The brief: This wonderful family relocated from Los Angeles and needed a space that truly reflected their lifestyle. Both creative minds, they wanted a home that lets family and friends feel their story the moment you walk through the door. As a family of five plus a doggy, it had to be fun, flexible, and durable.
What we did: In the kitchen, a handmade two-tone tile backsplash added texture to a modern kitchen that had great function but lacked character. We carried the same tile, in a different color, into a custom coffee nook carved from a space that felt wasted. A closet with a bifold door sat right in the dining room, and we knew immediately it wanted to be a dry bar: we curved the opening, added bottle and glassware storage, display shelving up top, and an antique mirror at the back for the illusion of grander scale.
The baths: Their requests were specific: something peaceful and functional for the master, something very fun for the kids, and a big surprise for guests in the half bath. So we did just that.
