The problem
The kitchen was closed off, dark, and poorly detailed.
What we did
We knocked down a wall to unify the kitchen with the living room, and the island became the focal point that gives everyone a place to gather. The microwave moved under the counter in the island, which we love to do: out of sight, still functional. The back wall got a thoughtfully detailed backsplash and stainless hood, and we designed a bar in the dining area to extend the kitchen and add storage.
