Private Residence

For this home, our clients wanted to pull inspiration from the French Country style and from the beautiful country of Cuba. We loved the idea of merging these two places to give us a traditional yet contemporary look. The patterns and materials found in the architecture of Havana, Cuba truly inspired us. The subtle glamour of a French Country interior home gave us a warmth we wanted to carry throughout the home. So we set off to renovate this 3 bedroom 4 bathroom home and give it a totally new look. Take a trip with us through the home!

We started off by knocking down walls around the kitchen to open up this space which was in a great location but felt blocked off. It wasn't allowing for an open flow between the different areas. Most importantly, it wasn't structural, so we got the green light to say bye-bye! Now, an incredible island sits in the middle, connecting the living room, family room, and kitchen so that this family could have the gatherings they've always dreamt of. There was a 4th bedroom (or den) off the kitchen which we converted into a laundry and pantry. So comfortable! Next to that is a guest bathroom where we used blue and gold to design for a fresh look that will leave guests with a taste of our inspiration. The master bathroom was also a complete redesign in terms of the layout and material palette. We were able to create a more functional flow and incorporate a private toilet room, enlarged shower with a bench, and freestanding tub. Here at Casa Chiang Interiors, a laundry niche is a must! We carved out a space for laundry to be hidden and towels to be displayed. Hotel, or home? I'm not sure and I love that.

Want to enjoy the pool? Well, we have a new cabana bath designed for you! It was totally inspired by Havana, Cuba with a beautiful patterned floor and a rustic looking wall tile. And yes, we got a towel niche here too!!

It was an absolute dream to renovate this home. We did so much more like pick new flooring, lighting, design a built-in for the living room... enjoy the photos!
